I grew up in central Iowa around the new construction industry. I learned early about hard work in my family's foundation business.  Laffoon and Company, Inc. is one of the largest & most respected foundation companies in the Des Moines area since 1971.

After I graduated in 1996 from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, I formed Select Builders, Inc.  I started out one home at a time in Norwalk.  Today I usually have around four or five homes going in various price ranges around the Des Moines Metro.

I currently live in Johnston with my wife and two busy kids.  I love spending time with my family and I keep busy helping coach some of their various sports.  When I have some free time I enjoy golfing with friends.
